As Motorola smart phones trends since last few years, they
push update for their smart phones much faster than any other manufactures. As
per the recent Motorola blog post, Motorola has confirmed that Android L (Android
5.0) will be arriving to Moto X (1st and 2nd gen), Moto G
(1st and 2nd gen) and Moto G with 4G LTE.
As Motorola’s device have almost stock android, it may
not take much long for them to optimize Android L to their devices. And also the same blog reveals that all the
Motorola smart phones launched in 2013 and later will get the new update.
Moto E along with Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx and Droid Mini
will receive the Android L update. But the phone maker didn't reveal when the
updates will be given.
The new Android L update will bring:
- Material design UI
- Improved performance
- Updated lock screen and notification
- Battery saver
- Document-centric multitasking and faster multitasking
- Support for 64-bit processors
- ART run time instead of Dalvik and so on.
If your device is eligible, you will receive a notification
in your notification bar. To update, tap on it, click “Download now” and wait
until its downloaded. Select “Install now”, now your device will reboot and
starts installing the new firmware. Finally your device will
automatically reboot and start with Android L. To confirm, go to Settings>About
Phone and you will see 5.0 under Android version.
