On 16 th October 2014 Apple announced iPad mini 3 along with iPad Air 2 and new iMac 5k. Design The new iPad mini 3 has the exactly same design as its predecessor iPad mini 2. The body is an aluminum unibody, comes with three color silver, gold and space gray. Apple have almost nothing to improve the iPad mini. Display It has a 7.9 inch IPS Retina display with 2048x1536 resolution (326ppi) exactly like the older iPad mini. Unlike the new iPad Air 2, new iPad mini display was not laminated. Apple made thinner display for iPad air 2 by combining three components LCD, touch sensor and cover glass into a single layer which reduces internal reflex and give a more enhanced touch screen experience. The iPad didn’t even the the anti reflexive coating over the display that iPad Air 2 has. Chip Even Apple didn’t look into to bump up the performance of the new iPad mini.
